Texas Hospitality: The Key to Israeli Hearts

In November, Disciple Daily began praying, "God how can we support the Church in Israel?"

The answer came through a providential connection with Pastor Meno Kalisher of Jerusalem Assembly. Together, we are launching Connections Global, an outreach  ministy of Jerussalem Assembly in Texas. This is a "missions-in-reverse" opportunity for your local church.

The Vision
Following the biblical precedent of Acts 28, where Paul shared the Gospel through hospitality while under house arrest in Rome, we are opening the homes of Texas based Jesus followers to young Israeli soldiers traveling in our area after their military service.
By providing a safe space away from the pressures of war, we create room for authentic relationships. When our guests ask why they are being welcomed with such love, we provide caring answers rooted in the Gospel.

How It Works: Study, Practice, Teach
The mission verse of Disciple Daily is Ezra 7:10. We are ready to help your church to:

• Study: Identify and equip local church members to understand the Jewish background of the Bible and the cultural context of contemporary Israeli life needed to host Israeli travelers.

• Practice: Believers open their homes for meals and activities, building trust and lifelong friendships.

• Teach: Hosts then equip others in their congregation to do the same.

Why This Matters
It often takes 7–10 years for a Jewish believer in Israel to build enough trust with a non-believer to discuss Jesus. However, history shows that most Jewish followers of Jesus had their first serious spiritual conversations with Gentile believers.

By hosting them here, we bridge that gap. When these travelers return to Israel, the team at Jerusalem Assembly is ready to continue the relationship and walk with them toward faith in Messiah Yeshua.

What’s Next?
Our first "beta test" is underway at Lone Oak Retreat in New Braunfels. Five Israelis are currently experiencing South Texas hospitality and meeting local believers. This is a unique church-to-church opportunity for local church members to get involved in outreach to unsaved Iraelis traveling in this region. We are just getting started.
