#3 - Revelation of the Son
Jan 17, 1999 • Steve Troxel
John wasn't vacationing on Patmos—he was banished there, forced into hard labor in stone quarries. Yet he describes himself as a "companion in the tribulation" with fellow believers. In your suffering, you are not alone. Christ stands in the midst of your circumstances, just as He stood among the seven lampstands.
God never wastes our suffering. He often isolates us to speak to us, to reveal Himself in new ways. What feels like exile may be preparation for revelation. The comfort you receive in your trials equips you to comfort others facing similar struggles. Whatever difficulty you face today, look beyond the circumstance to see the One who stands with you. Your present pain may be the birthplace of your future ministry.
