It was Friday afternoon. There were a lot of people shopping at Costco. I was headed toward the checkout line when an older man pushed his cart in the opposite direction. He was dressed in black pants, shoes, a white shirt, and tzitzit, and wore a kippah. Shabbat was beginning soon. The orthodox Jewish man must have been shopping at the last minute for the celebratory meal. I watched as he passed by. Eyes alert, head on a swivel, the man was nervous. "Who is watching me." Looking over my shoulder, he entered an aisle.
I turned my cart around and followed him. Entering the aisle, we were alone together. As I approached, he tensed up. "Shabbat Shalom," I said, and he replied in kind. "Sir," I continued, "I want you to know how very sorry I am about what is happening in Israel. I am ashamed about how Jewish people are being targeted around the world at this time." His eyes lit up as he took my hand in his. "I can't tell you how much I appreciate this."
It was a simple thing, my conversation. But it was fueled by what God has given me during fifty-plus years of walking with my Jewish Savior, Jesus. God elected the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to be the vehicle by which He will restore the destruction of His creation. While each Jewish person must conclude for themselves who Jesus is, all of them collectively have paid a huge price as the Chosen People. The oldest hatred, antisemitism, is the weapon Satan continues to use to denigrate and demolish both the Jewish people and their Jewish homeland. Satan knows what the Bible says about Israel, even if we do not.
An Invitation
Every Jesus follower must understand the origins of antisemitism and how it operates. We need to be equipped to identify it and call it out bravely. Antisemitism is Satanically-inspired racism, and it is the model by which the Enemy fosters and stimulates hate of every kind. Accordingly, I am inviting you to a singularly important seminar and workshop sponsored by Disciple Daily.

If you had been alive during the 1930, when Nazi demonization of Jewish people was common, would you have had the courage to stand up and speak out? Look around. It's my opinion that our society has returned to the 1930s. If you won't speak up now, what will you do when the 1940s are upon us again?
